COSMETIC PESTICIDE BAN Nova Scotia is on the verge of success in getting a strong cosmetic (lawn) pesticide ban. The government has released a position paper on cosmetic pesticides that is basically very good. It would ban the sale and use of non-essential pesticides on private, public and commercial properties throughout the province. The government has asked for feedback on their position. We are writing to ask you to take one simple action. Tell the government "I agree that NS should ban the sale and use of cosmetic pesticides. Cosmetic pesticides are an unnecessary risk to our health and our environment." You can send this message Via email to Policy@gov.ns.ca By phone by calling 1-888-320-0555 On-line by answering the questions on the pesticide consultation feedback form at https://www.gov.ns.ca/nse/pests/comments.asp Tantallon Public Library Family Movie — Up (rated PG), Saturday, March 6 at 2 p.m. Infant Crying — What’s normal?/ Tuesday, March 9 at 2:30 p.m. Book Club — A Thousand Splendid Suns, by Khaled Hosseini/ Tuesday, March 9 at 7 p.m. Computer classes/ call 826-3330 for information Teen Movie Night — Whip It (rated PG)/ Ages 14+/ Thursday, March 11 at 6 p.m. Harmless Pranks & Gags/ Ages 5+/ Thursday, March 11 at 3:30 p.m. J.
